[Sorry, Maul, you're about as easy to taunt as getting a dog to chase a ball.]
Somehow I don't see endless beatings being the answer. I don't know what IS, but not that. I dunno. He's... a weird one. I don't think he'd listen to a girl, in any case.

[Though Maul is already getting the positively evil idea of tricking Johnny into fighting Savage. He'd love to see that.]
I doubt he listens to anyone, though perhaps the fact I killed him might garner some respect out of the fool.

[She watched him carefully and tilted her head.]
No, I don't think having killed him will do much. [Johnny is not Peter, terrified of what Maul MIGHT do. Johnny was much too confident and assured to let a small matter like dying remove his pride. She shook her head. She appreciated his bravery, she just hated his prejudices. ]
I think you're better off leaving him alone from now on. If you two actually got along somehow we'd all be in trouble. [Too much pride in one place.]

[Everyone knew Maul was a hothead but few had seen Savage fly completely off the handle.]
I suppose you are right.
[As he's already learned, she always is. Maul snorted and shook his head.]
Small chance of that happening.

And bigger miracles have happened in this place.
cw: mentions of cannibalism
[And it's not like it's the first time Maul would have engaged in eating sentient species either, though the less said about that the better.]
Well, I doubt I shall behave anytime soon around him. He is terrible.

He's gonna give Savage indigestion. He really shouldn't try to eat him.
Mnn, he's not... great, no. [She sighed.] But he's not uncommon. There were lots of guys like that back home, too.

[Maul sounds far too pleased about that idea coming to pass.]
Many men have this attitude on Earth? [Maul sounds a bit shocked. He supposes maybe this place just has brought a bunch of progressive Sleepers, or rather, what they should have already been thinking of all along.] No wonder it is a place full of sentient morons.
no subject
There are... definitely enough of those types of guys for it to be common enough to not even blink at it happening.

You know when my brother first arrived, he described the people of Earth as "sentient morons." While I know that is not true, there is a certain subset it does seem to apply to.
