[He doesn't have to whisper, but it's only because he's excited. Instead of being loud, he's being quiet about it.]

What's up, Arden-kun?

Did what? [She's sorry, Arden, she's had a lot going on.]

[He's being vague, it's not her fault.]

Last night - I got to ask for a real date.

[He didn't last 48 hours from the last time he spoke to her.]

ARDEN THAT'S GREAT! And since you're not super-duper depressed, I can only guess your crush said yes?

Heh, that's right.

[He's transmitting plenty of nervous happiness that she probably doesn't even need to see his face right now, but he switches anyway. She helped him a lot.]

I don't know how long it'll last, but we spent time together last night and called it a date, so that's good enough for me.

[Neither of them even knew what 'a date' should really encompass so... oh well.]

I'd ask you to promise not to tease me if I told you, but I feel like that'll happen regardless.

[He has no idea just how close Sora and Usagi are or he might have hesitated to spare Sora the teasing too.]

Well, only light teasing, but it's teasing out of love. It's a required right of passage as a big sister figure!

SO! Tell me!

Big sister, huh? [He smiles, a little embarrassed by her moving from friend to calling herself family by association, since he's never had one before.]

Well, ah... Sora.

[There's a pause on her end as she hears Sora's name.]

Wait....

Wait as in Sora, MY Sora? My little brother Sora? My little brunette bundle of love for everyone Sora?

....

ARDEN THAT'S AMAZING I'M SO HAPPY FOR THE TWO OF YOU!

TELL ME EVERYTHING!

Aaaaah that's wonderful! This is so great! And even if it doesn't work out, I'm so glad you're mature enough to still be friends, but AH I'm cheering you both on!

I didn't know how well you knew Sora. I only saw you guys at your party that one time, and I guess Sora mentioned I had to go because you were an important friend... I just didn't know how important.

[He grabs at some of his long hairs around his neck.]

You're more his friend than mine, then.

Now hold on one second mister! [She put a hand on her hip.] You stop that sort of thinking right now. I'm just a different sort of relationship with him, that doesn't make your relationship any less valuable or mine more valuable! And it doesn't make you any less valuable to me. I have plenty of room in my heart for the both of you, Arden.

[Not even one date and Arden's already a jealous boyfriend!]

Sora and I arrived at the same time and have been through a lot together. But you and I have been through a lot together too!

[Not jealous exactly - more of his self-confidence issues. He thinks Sora deserved to tell her and he screwed that up because they're closer than he is with her.

But he still takes her scolding at face value and looks abashed about it, looking away as it tries to wedge in her alongside his misunderstanding of the situation.]

I didn't say we weren't friends, or that I thought you felt that way. I just... Would have said things differently if I knew you two were that close. Waited, something, talked to him first, I don't know just something different.

... Wouldn't you have said anything different to me about the date stuff if you'd known it was Sora?

Well, but I'm happy you told me, and I'm happy it worked out for you and for him.

Honestly? No, I wouldn't have if you told me you had a crush on Sora. [She smiled.] I can't even say I'm surprised it's Sora you're crushing on, honestly. At the end of the day, Sora made the choice to date you and you made the choice of asking him. I can only help wherever I can. And whatever comes of this, I'll be there for the both of you. He's my little brother but you're my friend too, Arden-kun, and that's not something I'm going to give up suddenly.

I'm not even going to do the whole "if you hurt my baby brother" thing, I mean unless you want it for the experience. [She teased.]

You mean hurt him more than I already did, back then.

[There's a lot of regret in his voice, but he also hopes it's clear that it was 'a long time ago'. It was only several months, but compared to how long he'd been alive - as he now knows - it's "a long time."]

That's part of why I was so surprised... forgiving me for mistakes is one thing, but this? [He sighs and shakes his head.] I still feel like I'm going to wake up any second now.

Sora wouldn't have said yes out of pity. And he wouldn't have said yes if he hadn't forgiven you. If he's forgiven you, then continuing to beat yourself up over it isn't going to really help either of you, now is it?

Well then, enjoy the dream while it lasts, yeah?

Yeah... Yeah, I'll try.

[For both of those things.]

Thanks. I, ah... I guess I should get back to work though.
