[It's a few days, really, before Rei works up the courage to bring the question to Usagi. She's not afraid, but she's worried, bothered, and fretting just a bit too much. So, late one evening after returning from a walk Rei knocks on Usagi's door.]
[Usagi's room is finally starting to look like something she would live in, bunny and cat plushes are sitting on soft purple bed covers. Her room is tidy though not necessarily clean, probably more cluttered than what Rei would like. She is sitting at her desk and has all sorts of papers in front of her since she made the announcement about the festival and is trying to organize everything she got done with Pepper. She looks up and smiles when she hears Rei's voice, bouncing over to the door and smiling wide.]
Rei-chan! Of course come in, I'm just working on festival plans.
[The reality of it was that nothing Usagi thought was clean would pass Rei's exacting standards. She was almost obsessive about her space being tidy. Especially here. But that was not the point of this. The point of this was a talk.
Stepping in, she shut the door behind her.]
There's something I needed to talk to you about. Or rather, someone.
[Well that's a positive sign at least. Usagi's excited, and that's at least ruling out some of the possibilities, like the thought that the boy had threatened her somehow.]
Does he know about you? [A beat.] He said some very, very pointed things to me, and I don't know if he meant them or not.
[Usagi blinked, then blanched, then bit her lip as she hid her face in her hands.]
Oh my gosh, Rei-chan, I completely forgot... I'm so sorry, it's cause- that is, we don't even mention it... ah... um... Sora-kun can sense light in people, especially if he touches them and... uh, I didn't know at the time when I hugged him when he first met. I guess... people in his world who have really strong light are all royalty so he sorta guessed I was a princess and I panicked so much at him just knowing without me saying anything, I completely forgot to deny it. But no it's okay! His light is strong too, I know it. [She pressed a hand to her heart and smiled.] I can feel it. We've...
Actually about that too... He... knows I'm Sailor Moon, but he was badly injured and could have lost his hands, I couldn't just keep the secret for the sake of myself. But he only knows about me! [She assured, grabbing Rei's hands.] I didn't tell him about you or anyone else because that's your choice in the matter. I'm so sorry, I didn't even think to mention it though because we never even talk about it, he's sworn to keep the secret.
Yes, he mentioned that, and his ability to move between realities with some sort of enchanted key. I'm not sure exactly how that works, but Setsuna-san probably would understand it better.
[What puzzles her is...]
He touched you and he just knew, though? About the Ginzuisho? Or was it our royal bloodlines? He talked about feeling something special in me, but I deflected, because I don't know him.
Ah, you know I was thinking the same thing! Yeah, he told me about how he travels to different worlds, protecting them and keeping them safe, a bit like us though he's not attached to anyone planet or system, it seems.
No, he didn't know about the Ginzuishou at all, but... well, I had to explain why I could heal him so much and what it was going to feel like... his... Rei-chan, his hands were black... I... I was really worried he would lose his hands. [She swallowed.] But he can sense light in people. I think he can sense the darkness in people as well but he can definitely sense the light within them. He asked me about it as well, but I know it's something for you and Minako-chan to decide on if you want to share and he understands that you're important and special to me, that's all I said.
[Rei wrinkles her nose up. She understand why Usagi did what she did. She could relate, having used some of her power already...just a bit...to help Junko get out of a hole. But, someone who can sense light is a very loaded thing for her. It sounds potentially dangerous.]
If he's intelligent, and he's seen you change then he'll have worked it out. You may not have confirmed it, but that's where the logic leads. It's fine then, I guess. If you trust him, then you trust him. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, myself. If he asks, I'll at least give him a straight answer.
[Because anything else would be straight up lying.]
Ah well, that's probably why he asked you, but he's sweet too. He won't push if you don't want him to, when I deflected he allowed the shift in topic no problem and understood. And I do trust him, I know... trusting a boy is something you need more time with and proof for, but Sora is someone I would trust to protect me and others if I asked. He's very loving and caring, he's fun and funny and adventurous.
The most important thing to him are his friends and loved ones, he' done a lot for them, to protect them. His loved ones are here too, and he wants to do everything he can to protect them and his home and many other worlds. Ah... well, you mentioned he told you about the keyblade. He protects worlds he doesn't even know or only went to once.
I trust him a lot, I love him a lot too, he's like a little brother.
He protects worlds that only exist in books, too. Well, books in our world. [Rei frowns at that. Yes, she could probably bring herself to work with him, but really opening up to a boy would take a lot more than endorsement from Usagi. So far the only one even close to making her feel comfortable was Obi-Wan Kenobi, and that was simply because he was so obviously calm all the time.]
OH I KNOW THAT BOOK! And... wait... [She blinked and then tilted her head.] Huh! Who knew! But I mean, we're myths to humans, or were myths in any case. So Peter Pan may not be just a story in his world just like we aren't just myths, right? Or... uh... is this that... alternate world- universe thing Ami-chan mentioned once?
We're the namesakes for the Roman gods, probably. Well. Not you, actually. The Roman God of the Moon was named Luna. There was no Serenity, and her Greek equivalent was Selene.
[Rei waves her hand as if to brush off the thought though, it wasn't terribly important but it was a correction. Usagi still needed to learn the Classics after all.]
This would probably be a case of an alternate reality. Much like Verens has dozens of different people from Earth, and from Japan, but none of them are from our version of it. In Sora's...reality...which could be much larger than a singular planet, he knows Peter Pan. In other realities, we might be storybook characters, too. There might even be a world where Mickey Mouse and Devilman are real.
[The only manga Rei is even remotely familiar with.]
Should... we ask? Ah but I don't want people knowing I'm a princess or Sailor Moon unless it's really necessary like healing Sora. I mean.. I am Serenity but I'm not... I mean I'm not Neo-Queen Serenity yet, and no one but the three of us knows about all of us being princesses and senshi and... [She swallowed.]
Ah, I rather no one have heard of us, honestly. I kinda like just being Usagi again, ya know? I mean, I'll always come to help as Sailor Moon and protect and heal as Princess Serenity, but I mean, I'm just Usagi here. No one is demanding the crystal or threatening our beautiful Earth.
[She follows Rei's finger, and blushes but smiles. She moves to hug onto Rei tight.] We did, didn't we. We fought to bring peace for us, our loved ones, and our precious Earth.
Action after the ball.
Usagi, can I come in?
[Action]
Rei-chan! Of course come in, I'm just working on festival plans.

I mean, they got the myth wrong about me and Endymion. Ah but- not the focus- right.
... So then do you think people know our entire lives without us telling them?
no subject
I think that's entirely possible. But I don't know.

[Reaching out, she pats Usagi on a meatball.]
Other realities are complicated, but it's also equally likely that nobody has ever heard of us. It's a little arrogant to assume otherwise.

Is... that bad? To want a break from all that?

That's what we've been fighting for all this time.
